SOA is the musical project of jazz singer and poetic lyricist Chrystelle Maechler. A new life is SOA's first EP. It includes mainly original songs composed by Éric St-Jean and Chrystelle Maechler. Moïse Yawo Matey took care of the rhythmical arrangements. This EP totally unveils SOA and is a way to spread their wings towards new musical adventures.
This self-produced EP is the common voice of their musical bet: back to the basics and focusing on the primary instruments: human voice, percussions, piano.
A new life is raw and authentic. The EP was recorded in studio but with the “live” conditions «The three of us were in the same room. The sound of each and every one of us was influencing and coloring the sound of the others. Which is why [ A new life /. is perfectly imperfect but unveils us the way we are in concert and in everyday life. »
